Event This Saturday!

The Buffalo chapter of Codepink Women for Peace announce the Mother's Day
Peace Walk! Meet us this Saturday at 11:00 am at the Front Park parking lot
next to the Peace Bridge. (Enter from Porter Avenue)

Bring your signs and banners - Welcome family and friends!

We will celebrate Mother's Day 2009 by calling for peace in our communities
and around the world! We share the pain and grief of the women whose lives
have been shattered by war - both women from war zones and women of American
soldiers! We will demand an end to all wars and demand that those funds be
invested in education, healthcare and the environment!

We know that the madness in Iraq and Afghanistan has to end, that we cannot
keep sending our children to kill the children of mothers across the globe.
President Obama himself has said "…sometimes I think that if you just put
the mothers in charge for a while, that things would get resolved." We agree
wholeheartedly and will continue to use our influence as women to work for
peace.

Speakers welcome!!! Share your stories!!!

Action Monday Morning

THIS MONDAY MORNINGMARCH 31MEET at 7:15am - 7:30 am

ELMWOOD AVE at CHIPPEWA STin the convenience store parking lotThat's where we'll gather our materials and head out in teams to busy intersections, passing out armbands marked with the number 4000...The number of U.S. troops killed has passed 4,000, while the uncounted Iraqi losses can only be estimated but may by now exceed one million—a figure of genocidal proportions.

EVEN IF YOU ONLY HAVE HALF AN HOUR, this would be a great way to spend it!Sponsored by Code Pink, Buffalo/WNY International Action Center, and the WNY Peace Center
